Lead Operations as an Assistant General Manager / Operations Manager in a One of a Kind Outdoor Facility

Take ownership of a highly visible, hands-on leadership role where your operational judgment directly shapes a safe, organized, and welcoming customer experience. As an Assistant General Manager / Operations Manager with Angeles Shooting Ranges Inc. in Sylmar, California, you will help lead day-to-day facility operations, support revenue and property management activities, and guide a dependable team. This is an excellent opportunity for a person with many years of experience as an Operations Manager, Facilities Manager, or Site Manager. We need a chief cook and bottle washer with extensive, hands-on experience running a small business, plus extensive experience in different kinds of shotgun shooting sports.

What You Will Do:

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Sporting Clays range.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and support range employees.
• Maintain a safe environment for customers and employees, and consistently enforce all range safety rules.
• Assist experienced shooters as well as customers who are new to shotgun sports.
• Oversee customer check-in, point-of-sale transactions, ammunition and target sales, equipment rentals, and memberships.
• Inspect and maintain rental shotguns and related range equipment.
• Monitor, load, adjust, and troubleshoot clay-target throwing machines.
• Inspect the course daily to ensure stations, paths, signage, and shooting areas are clean, safe, and properly maintained.
• Coordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate inventory of ammunition, clay targets, rental equipment, and retail merchandise.
• Support Sporting Clays tournaments, leagues, special events, and group outings.
• Address customer questions, complaints, and unusual situations calmly and professionally.
• Complete opening and closing procedures, including daily cash and accounting reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate operational and safety records.
• Collaborate with Angeles Shooting Ranges management to increase customer participation, strengthen events, and improve the overall profitability of the Sporting Clays operation.

 

What You Bring:

• You have experience in operations management, facilities management, small business ownership / management, or a related leadership role.
• You can confidently balance customer service, event planning and scheduling, inspections, maintenance coordination, and customer focused operational responsibilities.
• You are organized and reliable, with strong documentation, finance, auditing, and follow through skills.
• You are an effective coach and communicator who can lead staff, make sound decisions, and maintain a professional presence on site.

Education and Additional Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and additional training in business, a long background in small business management, and a lot of outdoor experience, facilities, maintenance, or leadership is valued.
• A valid ability to drive for work related responsibilities is important for this in person role.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Earn an annual salary of $45,000 to $54,000 based on experience and qualifications.
